So who am I?
If you've been on Second LIfe (SL), and have had the opportunity to come to a show you'll
quickly realize I'm just a man who loves his music. Before coming to SL, music was my saving grace. It kept this blues cat
together for many a year; when everything else was falling apart. So my music, at least for me, is a chance to tell my story.
A chance to pay hommage to all the wonderful musicians that have influenced me.
The list of musical influence in my life is far and wide. As a young man, I can remember the
sound of old motown bein played by my mother around our house; things like the Manhattans, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye....
while upstairs, I was cranking out Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet... (LOL) -- yeah I know, one hell of a contrast I suppose!
But all these things are bringing me to where I want to be. And though I ain't there yet, it's my hope that someday I'll find
a place to make my mark and hopefully make some people smile. Cuz when it's all said and done, ain't that what music is really
'sposed to be about?
Now some folks have said my sound has a heavy influence, or a flavor if you will... of some
of the guitar greats, that I have so eagerly tried to emmulate. Guys like Robin Trower, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Joe Bonamassa and
of course, the most powerful influence for me, Mr. Stevie Ray Vaughan. One of my greatest disappointments in my life was the
fact that due to choices I had made in life, I never got the opportunity to see him play live. But I like to think that every
time somebody turns on one of his songs and grabs that volune knob, that a piece of his soul is still with us. Now folks,
THAT is a mark. Do I like to think that I can put myself in the same category? HELL NO!!! But do I want to pay tribute
to him and the wonderful music he left us? OH HELL YES!!! So folks, if you think that I'm done moving forward, then
all I can tell you is this: sit back, grab a nice cool beverage, and enjoy the ride! Cuz I ain't even close to done yet! :)
